Rules
Starting a Run
- Each Game Must Have a Target – A clear objective or goal will be set before starting.
- New Targets Can Be Set – If the initial goal is reached, a new one may be specified if possible.
- Player Can Choose Over Random Selection – If a game offers the option to manually select something (e.g., character, class, location) or randomise it, the player may choose.
Game Mode & Difficulty
- Permadeath Mode Will NOT Be Used – Official in-game permadeath modes will not be enabled to allow for bug-related reloads and post-run review.
- Difficulty Cannot Be the Easiest if Three or More Options Exist – If a game has three or more difficulty levels, the easiest setting cannot be used. However, any other difficulty where death is possible is allowed.
- Pausing is Allowed – If the game allows pausing, it can be used at any time.
- Mods That Affect Gameplay Are NOT Allowed – Mods that change gameplay mechanics, difficulty, or balance are not allowed. However, mods that assist with streaming (e.g., stat tracking, overlays) are permitted.
- DLC Can Be Enabled or Disabled, But Counts as One Run – A game can be played with or without DLC, but this still counts as a single run. If the game is lost, it cannot be replayed later with DLC enabled or disabled as a workaround.
Help & Cheating
- Advice, Guides, and Information Sources Can Be Used – External resources (e.g., wikis, guides) are allowed.
- Multiplayer Assistance is Allowed – In multiplayer games, help from teammates is permitted.
- Exploiting Intended Features is Allowed – Using in-game mechanics as intended (e.g., creating an iron farm in Minecraft) is fine.
- Cheats and Bug Exploits Are NOT Allowed – Using cheats or exploiting bugs to gain an unfair advantage (e.g., glitching onto the Nether roof in Minecraft) is prohibited.
Death & Failure Conditions
- Death Condition Must Be Defined Before the Run – If a game does not have a clear "death" state, a failure condition must be specified before the run. (e.g., Does the run end when one character dies or when the whole crew is lost?)
- Spawn Kills Do Not Count – In games where the spawn or landscape is randomised, any deaths within the first 5 minutes do not count.
- Forced Story Deaths Do Not Count – If a game requires the player to die as part of the story, it does not count.
- Bug/Glitch Deaths Do Not Count – If a death is caused by a confirmed bug or glitch, it does not count.
- Upon Death or Failure, the Run Ends – Once the defined death or failure condition is met, the run is over.
Ending a Run
- If No New Reasonable Target Can Be Set, the Run is Complete – If no further objectives can be specified, the run is considered complete.
- Post-Run Review May Be Done – After a run ends, some time may be spent reviewing the game, reflecting on key moments, and discussing the run.
- That Game Will Never Have a New Run on the Channel Again – Once a run ends, the game is permanently retired from the channel.
- A New Game is Chosen, and a New Run Begins – After a run concludes, a different game will be selected for the next challenge.
